This beautiful Map mural was commissioned by a client in London. The mural represents my clients family who traveled from their homeland in India and settled globally. From the first trip my clients grandfather made by boat from India in 1925, to the shores of South Africa and on to newly settled relatives as far as North America the mural tracks the families amazing journeys.

Our Art in Hospitals Programme is part of our commitment to enhancing the environment in which our community work, care and visit. We work alongside ward managers, staff and patients to create original and vibrant wall art, our murals are painted off site at our studio then transported on site when they are ready to install.

Installation is fast and fuss free, with minimum disruption for staff and patients. A typical two wall mural can be installed in 2-3 hours with no mess or paint odors often associated with painting on site.

Nottingham City Hospital Mural feedback

The feedback we received during installation was extremely positive, ward staff, parents and their friends all stopped and commented how amazing the transformation was and how it created a colorful and positive environment for everyone to enjoy.

The ward staff couldn’t believe the difference and the speed of installation. We painted the murals off site onto canvas at our studio and installed them overnight ensuring minimum disruption for staff and patients.

We hope you enjoy viewing the images of  our many Hospital Mural projects.

Hospital Mural

Hospital Mural

Hospital Mural

Hospital Mural project.

We were contacted by Nottingham University Hospital to help create some colorful murals to brighten up the walls of the neonatal emergency care ward. The ward sister had consulted with patient parents and staff and they had agreed they would love to have some images from the “Guess how much I love you” children’s books.

A consultation meeting was arranged and Melissa discussed all the options with ward sister Lorraine Collins at the hospital. Together they chose a handful of images and possible locations and sizes. Melissa advised it would be best to paint the murals off site onto a special poly canvas that can be pasted to walls and removed and relocated if required. The hard wearing, non shrinking and waterproof qualities of the canvas are ideal for this type of project where the murals are located in high traffic areas. Painting the canvas off site also means minimum disruption for the hospital.

Melissa took care of the copyright with the publisher who kindly agreed use of their illustrations for the murals.

The finished murals look beautiful and the hospital staff and patients commented  how they love the way they brighten the ward up.

If you are looking to brighten up a ward at your hospital please contact Melissa on 0772 2239379 to arrange a consultation.

Melissa will visit you at a suitable time and location to discuss all the options regarding your Hospital Mural project.

Art Workshop

Art Workshop Art Workshop Art WorkshopLooking for an exciting Art Workshop suitable for all ages? well Bal has created just that. The Aboriginal Art Workshop is a 2-3 day introduction to aboriginal style finger painting.

The aim of the Art Workshop is to enable children and adults to express their artistic flair and nurture their motor skills, hand articulation, co-ordination and concentration.

What does this mean?.

Art is a great way for individuals to express thoughts and emotions, Bal worked with native aboriginal artists in Australia for 3 years, they had a fantastic flair for colour and expression. This got Bal thinking, the aboriginal “dreamtime” style of finger dot painting could be implemented by anyone of any age, especially children. The results are stunning and anyone can create a magnificent artwork to be proud of in a very short space of time and with limited knowledge of painting. This style of finger painting strips art back to the bare bones, similar to how our ancestors the cave men would have possibly created the first cave paintings.

Art Workshop gets results! The journey is very exciting and the final artwork looks breathtaking, the childrens groups I have worked with have been astounded by the finished artwork and many budding artists have emerged as a result.

The Art Workshop is structured around 2-3 days depending on the size of the group and final mural size, Bal will supply all paints and materials and will mentor the group from start to finish.

These photo’s are from the NSDT North Smethwick Development Trust summer school childrens group engageing in a 2 day Aboriginal Art Workshop. the kids really enjoyed getting involved and all the artwork was created by them. The age range was 5-12 years and I’m sure you will agree the final pieces look stunning.

On reflection Bal noted that the children who had an artistic flair carried the project to completion but most importantly they engaged with children of less ability and often guided them when they went wrong or became distracted. The group morale was consistantly high and it was great to see a sense of achievement and teamwork amongst the youngsters.

The cost of the Art Workshop starts at £350 per day for a group of 15, we use water based paints as they are non toxic and odourless, you may specify paper or canvas. Paper and paints are provided by muralartist4u. Note Canvas is priced separately at extra cost if required.

Larger or smaller groups can be accommodated, please call Melissa 07722239379 to arrange or discuss.

Bal recently won a prestigious contract to work on an ambitious and exciting new development,  a 30,000 sq ft kids indoor play arena known as the Riverside Hub in Northampton the largest soft play indoor play arena in the UK.

Bal has been working hard painting 4 super sized murals for the Riverside Hub. The Owners of the new development scoured the country for the finest contractors and artist to help make their ambitious project a reality. The brief was simple, they required a proven mural artist who would  help them develop their ideas and deliver a stunning job on time.

The Riverside Hub theme is Play, Party, Learn and Create. The four murals required were a huge rolling countryside for the toddler village area. Also an equally huge wall mural for the creative Snug and play arena, a huge enchanted forest mural for the princess party room and a baloon themed mural for the party area.

Here are some work in progress images, this reall gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ” no job is too big”.
